This striking pair of star-shaped earrings are unusual in colour. The central gemstone in each sterling silver earring is a particularly interesting black opal cabochon, which under magnification has a myriad of colours - one has a more orange and red iridescence and the other, a green and orange iridescence. They almost seem like small planets - fascinating! The opals are surrounded by 10 natural, fairly included, dark pink, round faceted rubies. These are surrounded by 10 largish round faceted tanzanites of gentle hue and excellent clarity, with an additional tanzanite on each tip of the star - a total of 1,2 carats of tanzanites! At 20mm x 20mm, they are a good size, and the studs have a strong hinged safety catch. They are hallmarked 925 indicating sterling silver. They are studs that sit nice and close to the ear but at 20 mm each way, they are big enough to be seen and admired.
