This exquisite vintage (1948 to 1960) and colourful hand decorated Royal Doulton "The Jester" (D6277) plate shows The Hester and his puppet in bright shades of green, red, yellow, pink and black. The wide border is decorated with Chinese lanterns and ivy foliage in shades of the same basic pallet. The plate measures 26.5cm across and carries the Royal Doulton back stamp introduced in 1932 and confirms that the plate was made between 1948 and 1960 and is part of the “D” series (professional collection). There are no chips, cracks or repair work done to the plate. Please view the pics carefully to fully appreciate this truly stunning Royal Doulton collectable plate and to confirm the condition.
