This spectacular and very rare Dutch made “E Sola 90” (Sola-Zilver) “Jan Van Riebeeck” boxed set of six EPNS teaspoons, six cake forks and a sugar spoon are in remarkable condition for their age. The set is in its original hard presentation box and which has kept the set well protected. Sola-Zilver used a process of actual sterling silver applied to the electro plating process which makes the set superior quality pieces. The set was manufactured in 1952 to commemorate the 300th anniversary (1652 to 1952) of Jan Van Riebeeck’s arrival in South Africa. The decals on the spoons show the bust of Jan Van Riebeeck, the decals on the cake forks are that of Maria De La Quellerie (Maria Van Riebeeck) and the sugar spoon has the Dromedaris (The ship he came in on). Please view the pics carefully to fully appreciate this very rare set and to confirm the condition.
