CHARMING VINTAGE FLOWER DESIGN SPINEL AND DIAMOND
9CT YELLOW GOLD RING. 375. PRETTY!
This piece has a flower shape ring head sitting on a narrow shank of yellow 9ct gold, with a small openwork cage raising the head above the finger. 7 dark blue spinels are set in raised yellow gold claws in the centre of the flower, with a lower layer of 'petals' formed by small round cut diamonds inset in 9ct white gold. The contrasting colour combination of deep dark blue with warm yellow gold and sparkling diamonds is striking. Blue spinel is one of the rarer of the spinel gemstones and is often mistaken for sapphire. The gemstones have all been tested and authenticated by an independent jeweller. The hallmarks include '375' indicating genuine 9ct gold, the jeweller's signature and the Birmingham Assay mark. Beautifully crafted and lovely on the hand, its a nice piece of vintage English jewellery.
