No 396, page 111 in Brian Hern's Catalogue - Medallions of the ZAR and Anglo Boer War

Occassion: To commemorate the unveiling of the Kruger Statua on Church Square, Pretoria, on 11 October 1954. The pieces were made by the SA Mint to the order of the Krugergenootskap, Pretoria, and distributed by Volkskas. The old ZAR coinage dies were adapted for this series. The full set sold for 7 Pounds and 10 Shillings. Seperate Silver sold for 10 shillings and bronze for 2/6. Over the years many gold and silver pieces were melted, making undamaged sets scarce!

Gold: Stamped 9ct on the reverse. Diameter 32.1 mm.  Mass 17.5 gm

Silver: Stamped STG (sterling) on the reverse.  Proof. Diameter 32.2 mm.  Mass 17.2 gm

Bronze: Matt Proof.  Diameter 32.1 mm.  Mass 15.3 gm
