This set of fine Staffordshire Porcelain was manufactured in 1889 to 1912 (Rd.No.302032)
The cups are "handleless" and while this may seem strange it was how the original "Tea Bowls" were introduce to England from China in the 18th century. The set is in remarkably good condition and shows little sign of grazing or ware. There are no Chips nor Cracks.
A little mystery with the set.... the box was obviously made for the set but was manufactured by George Edward and Sons who were contemporaries of the period but were Gold and Silver smiths from Glasgow? Once again the interior of the box is in good ciondition, the lining is neither worn nor torn. The outside of the box however does show some scuff wear of 116 years but is still completely sound!
