This incredible sterling silver, Georgian period teaspoon of exquisite craftsmanship was presented as a prize for tennis. The top of the handle shows a pair of crossed tennis rackets with silver balls above a laurel wreath surmounted by a crown. The spoon is made of English sterling silver (22.8g) and is hallmarked. The spoon is 12.2cm long. The hallmarks on the spoon consist of the "Anchor" city mark confirming it was made in Birmingham, the Lion Passant confirming it is British sterling silver (925), the letter "w" confirming the spoon was made in 1921 and the makers stamp (assay) confirms the spoon was made by William James Dingley Silversmiths of Birmingham. There is minimal/ normal age and usage related wear and tear. Please view the pics carefully to fully appreciate this awesome antique Georgian sterling silver teaspoon and to confirm the condition.
