ABOUT THIS GEM:                                                                                                RUBY

The name 'ruby' was derived from the Latin word 'rubens', meaning 'red'.

Rubies have always been held in high esteem in Asian countries. They were used to ornament armor, scabbards, and harnesses of noblemen in India and China. Rubies were laid beneath the foundation of buildings to secure good fortune to the structure.

For thousands of years, the ruby has been considered one of the most valuable gemstones on Earth. Large gem quality rubies can be more valuable than comparably sized diamonds. It has everything a precious stone should have: magnificent colour, excellent hardness and outstanding brilliance. In addition to that, it is an extremely rare gemstone.

Healing and Magical Energy
During the Middle Ages, the ruby was believed to have an inner fire that could not be concealed. By the time of the Renaissance, only the wealthiest individuals could dream of owning a ruby. Ruby was said to be the most precious of the twelve stones God created when he created all things and a Ruby was placed on Aaron's neck by God's command. In the ancient language of Sanskrit, Ruby is called Ratnaraj, or king of precious stones. Rubies have been highly prized gemstones throughout history.

You did offer to fix the problem. I can not send back a gift, so that is why I changed the rating to medium.
