A rare masterpiece of Blackforest handcrafted woodcarving skill! Traditional HUNTING motif (ein Jagdstück), incorporating a magnificent staghead, the hare and pheasant plus, of course, a rich oak foliage crescent and fascia with two superbly modelled hunting rifles, the hunting horn and prey satchel. No nicks, marks or blemishes. Customary weight driven day-movement.
The clock is in perfect running condition, it keeps the time, cuckoos and ticks along merrily as you read. Checked and serviced.
The clock was made by the well known clockmaker Emil Schmeckenbecher and is fitted with the extra-reliable REGULA25 day-movement by SBS-Feinwerktechnik, both of Schonach/Blackforest in the traditional Blackforest cuckooclock manufacturing region. Take a look at the neat inside of the clock:
Valuator’s comment: 45 to 75 years old, current collector’s value R12.000 – R18.000, upward tendency.
After careful and secure packing we shall dispatch to South African destinations by normal postage (R120) or speed service courier to door (R250) – add 2% of auctioned value plus above delivery cost for total loss insurance.
