This is a 1977 V/W Beetle 1600, and as you can see, it`s a Herbie lookalike. I am a Herbie nut and has spent nearly 3 years building this perfect tribute to the great movie car.

Some of what was done to the vehicle:

* Complete respray. Fitted all Herbie decals.

* Brand new engine from Vee Motors in JHB. The motor has done approx 1000km only. Custom exhaust was fitted.

* Interior was completely redone in red/white & blue Herbie colours. New carpeting throughout, everything embroided with the "53" Herbie number.

* Sport steering wheel. Flip out CD/DVD player with custom sound system with subs, amps, etc.

* Custom widened V/W rims, fitted with brand new Dunlop Tyres.

* Unique Herbie and V/W stickers on the back and side windows.

* Period front and rear bumpers, as well as front and rear lights were fitted to bring the car as close to the 1967 icon as possible.

There has been well over R50 000 spent on this unique vehicle and this is certainly not just another Beetle with Herbie stickers on it. I would like to get as close to R45 000 as I possibly can. You can mail me on francoisp@mcmotor.co.za.
