A Victorian ink, known as a "boat ink". What makes this very unusual is that it is square; most boat inks were rectangular. It is also uncommon in being embossed - "Hollidge" on one side and "London" on the other. It has the typical "burst top" and some interesting swirls in the glass. Altogether, a credit to any collection of inks ! |
