The opinions are universal - BARRA must be the closest to Paradise one would ever find! Situated 500 km. north of Maputo in the province of Inhambane, BARRA (Praio de Barra) boasts the usual unspoilt, palm fringed and outstretched beaches synonymous with Mozambique. Swim in the tropical, crystal clear seas and lakes. Unlike other coastal areas in South Africa, you can always swim in Barra, even during July, since the ocean is always much warmer than elsewhere. It is also very safe - the seas are calm with low, placid waves most of the time, and side currents very seldom occur. You can have peace of mind when the kids are swimming. And you do not have to worry about sharks - in Barra's history, no shark attacks ever occurred. It is a paradise for diving and snorkeling, with a famous reef a mere 200 metres from the shore. The young and fit normally simply swim out to the reef. Or you can dive the world famous Manta Reef at Tofo (Praia de Tofo), bordering Barra to the south. Resorts like Barra Reef, Palm Grove and Barra Lodge offer guided diving and snorkeling expeditions, and they have all the necessary equipment on site. Barra is also a famous deep sea angling spot, where an abundance of game fish roam: Marlin, Sailfish, Barracuda, Dorado, Kingfish and Tuna. CHALET 2A: 1 Bedroom with a 180 degrees view of the sea. There are also two large communal entertainment areas, consisting of a fully equipped large kitchen, dining room, bar, washing area and ladies/gents toilets with wash basins. And of course a lovely covered wooden deck where you would enjoy your meals most of the time. This is ideal for large groups who prefer to mingle and eat together. The entertainment areas are equipped with a fridge and freezer as well as a chest freezer for additional meat etc. The one is equipped to seat 14 people and the other one 24 people. THE CHALET:

)We do have 2 sleeper chalets available for this period. The dates still fall within the peak season and the rate is R960 per day. Minimum stay 7 nights. You can drive there but you should preferably have a 4X4 or at least a 2X4. All-wheel drive SUV's are also fine. If you are a South African citizen, you do not need a Visa.

)Unfortunately we are fully booked from 2 July until the 14th July. Although a normal 2X4 bakkie is perfectly fine for this area, a passenger vehicle would not make it there since it is too low. Dtailed directions are on our website www dot barraproperties dot com, and yes, it is perfectly safe to drive there and probably ten times safer than SA.

This would be fine, but you would have to provide a small mattress and bedding for her - the room is a bit small for 3 single beds. We can provide a double bed mattress for your two single beds, making it a double bed if you want her to sleep with you?
