Dierama igneum is a rare South African species that is sun loving and tolerant. It has evergreen foliage and is perfect for all year colour and screening and will grow up to 180 cm tall.

This species is well suited to group planting as an accent plant and with its fiery-red to dark pink flowers on arching stems do make an eye catching display.

It will need a warm spot in the garden and some winter mulching.

Dierama igneum is suitable for exposed coastal plantings and will tolerates full sun and sandy, drought-prone soils.
