This pewter matchbox holder was made in Norway by Perletinn, It is estimated that it is about 60 years old, the patent number is 87049. The holder itself is in good condition, but the box shows a lot of wear on the striking surfaces. The manufacturer of the matches, of which there are none, is H.E. Gosch & Co. Other words on the box are 'Tordenskjold' and 'Taendstikker'. It also has the picture of a 17th. century dandy, looking up into the sky. Why? Who knows. The matchbox itself is of Danish origin. The size of the holder is 100mm x 63mm x 33mm thick and weighs 147 grams Please include R25.00 for P&P.
