Common Name: Cobweb Spiderwort
Plants are white-villous throughout the leaves and stems, giving it an appearance of being covered with spider webs. It originally comes from N. E. Mexico. From early summer to late autumn it bears stunning rose-magenta coloured flowers. The Mexican Tradescantia groundcovers are sophisticated cousins of the weed which plagues most South African gardens, Tradescantia fluminensis - better known as wandering Jew - but they are generally not invasive like that horrible one. This species has delightful silky-hair silvery foliage and doesn't grow beyond its appointed spot. Right is a photo of some of the actual plants which are in 10cm pots. You will get at least two rooted cuttings. These rooted cuttings will be sent without pots and soil free. We'll remove the plants from the soil as it not only increases postage but also makes the parcel unstable.
