The Speed is a member of HEAD’s popular You Tek series and also Novak Djokovic’s racket of choice. The 18/20 string pattern compliments the long swing by offering a high level of control and feel. The You Tek family of rackets combine traditional graphite fibers with microgel, a proven ‘honeycomb’ material that disperses impact shock around the frame creating a much denser and stiffer frame for improved comfort, and increased power and control. These new frames also include a new material, ‘’d30™’, a type of dilitant foam that changes its behaviour under impact. Located in the shaft of the racket, d30™ reacts to the choice of shot, providing a softer touch and better feel for slow shots and increased stiffness to create outstanding power behind fast strokes. The new frames also include Teflon coated grommets which lessens friction on the strings allowing them to move more freely and thus creating greater power and improved control.
