A THING OF THE PAST NEARLY 100 YEARS OLD HALLMARKED SILVER HANDLED GLOVE STRETCHER?. RARE?

What I thought of as hair curling tongs is very possibly a glove

stretcher. This item measures length 20cm and the distance from

handle to handle (lateral) is 8cm. The marking are very, very

difficult to photograph. There are markings on all sides (handles)

some of which are worn. From what is left it is The anchor, a lion

and then a P in a square with a squiggle at the bottom. From my

scant knowledge this is Birmingham and the P appears to be

1914.

Please note the tong part was probably silver plated and this has

worn in parts. You can see the wear in the photo above
