The common name refers to Mt. Shasta, in California, where the American plant breeder, Luther Burbank, created this easy to care for hybrid. Shasta Daisies are very easy to grow and make excellent cut flower arrangements. Arroyo Lupine (Lupinus succulentus), Blazing Star (Liatris spicata) or White Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) all make excellent companions to the Shasta Daisy.
