Avi Schwartz (ISRAELI 1938) Artist’s in the studio Original oil on masonite: 49 cm x 34 cm; with frame 63 cm x 49 cm Schwartz emigrated to Israel 1948. Studies: 1954-1955 Avni Institute, Tel Aviv, with Marcel Janco, Mokadi, Stematsky and Streichman; 1970-1971 at the studios of Zvi Shor and Professor Schwartzman; 1979 Academy of Arts, Paris. Prize: 1982. First Prize for Painting Scenes of Petah Tikvah. He studied at the Avni School of Art and was taught by Marcel Yanko, Mokadi and Stematzki. He was later influenced by painter Zvi Shor. His works have gained a respectable place among museums and private collections in Israel, South America, Canada, the United States, Belgium and others.
