Presented here are the accounts of nine assorted Rhodesian trials told in such a way that the reader is invited to examine the evidence, follow the cross-examination, make an appreciation of the summing-up, and assess the verdicts and sentences. This visit to the courts down memory lane recalls cases of such crimes as highway robbery - a felony almost unheard of in the early history of white occupation - embezzlement on an extravagant scale, and murder, the result of unbridled passion, jealousy, rape, and, in one instance, witchcraft. An interesting diversion is provided in the daring exploits of the notorious Aiden Diggeden who organised a train robbery from within the confines of the Bulawayo goal. The book is illustrated with contemporary photographs. 1981 hardcover with dust jacket in good condition. Name in ink in front. R25 postage in SA.
