Strelitzia juncea - 100 Fresh Graded Seeds + Growing Guide

R200.00

Strelitzia juncea (You are bidding on 100 seeds + professional advice)

Hardiness zone 9 - 11, therefore not recommended for areas that experience heavy frost.

Strelitzia juncea is a highly sought-after species of the Strelitzia genus and very decorative!

Strelitzia juncea is a striking feature plant with upright cylindrical leaves without a leaf blade.  They reach a height of 1 to 2 meters and are highly prized as bold accent plants.

They are indigenous to South Africa with small wild populations near Uitenhage and Port Elizabeth and are considered threatened.

Strelitzia juncea is easy to grow and is water-wise.  It is also the most frost hardy of the Strelitzias so can be grown in colder climates, where the other species can't.

Tremendous Commercial Potential in South Africa

Due to the tremendous surge in popularity for these plants worldwide, seed has been very scarce for a long time, and continues to be.  For this reason, they are still very rarely available commercially.

Full cultural (growing) instructions will be given, detailing all steps that should be taken to overcome dormancy, sow and germinate your seed, and grow your seedlings into saleable sizes as well as advice on how to market them.

I'm always willing to answer questions and offer support, even after a sale. I look forward to growing with you!
