Q:
Hi, some fine books you have :) Not to be rude but is this a authentic signature? It really is rare if it is. Is it ex lib?
Thanks, Boekbok

Hi Victoria,
Thanks for the answer very interesting, I am considering it but have already bid on so many of your other books! If I do not buy it I hope you can get a good price for it. I was also wondering IF I win the bids on your items, the shipping might be consolidated? I am currently bidding on ten of your books.
Kind regards,

Hi there
Thank you! We are very fortunate with the books that are donated to our charity, mostly from estates. I have had this online for a long time (at a much much higher price, but made it so much cheaper because it's more important for us to raise money than hold onto things). I cannot guarantee the signature - I checked it a while ago online and it looked genuine (just can't find the link at the moment - I think it was a signed bottle of gin on eBay that I compared it with) and have no reason to suppose it isn't genuine... It has a crossed out "Summer Dunes Retirement Library" stamp at the back (oops, never saw that before now!). Looks like it was a presentation copy - this John Gilbey was alive at the time... But, as I say, it hasn't been authenticated (we can't afford to send books away for this, although it would be great to be able to!)
Thanks for your interest!!
Victoria
