This is a corrected Re-ListVERY COLLECTABLE - Queens South Africa Medal -Boer War - 3 Clasps Transvaal, Cape Colony and Orange Free State to Private J Murray 7554 - 1st Northumberland Fusiliers.The medal in good condition with a minor rim knock and is correctly named with the Original ribbon. The Regiment was based at Magersfontein. However, he was convicted of Section 18 of the Army Act and according to the roll, his medals were forfeited. (see pic of medal roll ) A subsequent amendment re-earned him the medal . See below "A soldier convicted (16.7.01) under Section 18, Army Act, forfeiting the Queen's SA Medal and clasps earned prior to that date afterwards re-earns the Queen's Medal and such clasps as he subsequently became entitled to. His service prior to 16.7.01 cannot be allowed to reckon towards the period qualifying for the grant of the King's Medal vide paras 3, 9, 15 Army Order 232 of 1902. AG3 minute 12.12.06 " He also apparently also appears on a Volunteer Roll of the Northumberland Fusiliers. With all of these happenings, this is a very desirable medal !
