Myrsine africana or as it is commonly known, African Boxwood or Cape Myrtle, is a tough evergreen shrub that forms a dense rounded mound 1-2 meter tall and 1 meter wide. It is a good selection for hedges. The rounded leaves closely cover the upright reddish stems. Plant it in full sun or part shade. It is a drought tolerant and tough plant with attractive foliage and fruits which attracts birds and is suitable for most gardens.
