Perfect Pink Quartz Crystal on Matrix 132-135-million-years-old
Great specimen, from the Barndberg region of Namibia in the Goboboseb mountains
The Quartz crystal is a soft amethyst, giving the crystal a pink colouration. The crystal has a myriad of internal vapour veils, and some
red hematite inclusions.
The internal vapour veils create small reflecting mirrors within the crystal
The rock (matrix) from which the crystal emerges is covered with clusters of small quartz crystals and
small blobs of Prenite attached to the matrix. The Prenite is a soft green / yellow in colour and cannot be see well in the photos
Attached to the matix of Quarts clusters we have some epidote
The cluster also has some calcite and other minerals attached to the matrix
