Crassula ovata cv. Gollum Plants

Shrek Ear Plant

Crassula ovata 'Gollum' (Gollum Jade) - It is a small sparingly branched, shrubby, erect, succulent, that can slowly grow up to 50-80 cm tall by 30-60 cm wide.

It has interesting tubular leaves that have a reddish tint. This is a similar cultivar to the earlier Jade cultivar 'Hobbit' but where 'Hobbit' leaves are curled back around, the cultivar 'Gollum' has leaves that are nearly tubular and appear to be tipped with a suction cup reminiscent of the J.R.R. Tolkien character by the same name. Both 'Gollum' and 'Hobbit' are interesting plants with trunks that becomes thick with age and developing interesting stem patterns.

In late autumn and early winter pinkish white star-like flowers appear. Great for container culture and Bonsai cultivation.

Plant it in full sun to bright shade to bring out its true colours.

These are photos of the actual plants that are for sale here. The plants are currently in 7.5cm square pots.

These plants will be sent without pots and soil free. We'll remove the plant from the soil as it not only increases postage but also makes the parcel unstable.
