Exquisite doubled storey house, north facing sitting as it were in the small boat harbour. Hand hewn stone tiles from India throughout, other than the solid teak floor on the top storey, which consists of study, one huge luxurious bedroom, a dressing room, and very large full bathroom. Unusual and carefully selected solid brass, made-in-India, fittings, on everything. You have to see the custom made teak double doors, never before see in any house. There is a gas/electric stove, in the exquisite hand-hewn teak kitchen. The lower floor is an open plan, with pantry in the scullery, and large bathroom for guests. Double and single garage, with a full two-bed roomed flat above, that has a tiny kitchen, full bathroom and two balconies.
There are store rooms and an attic, which is very useful.
There is a jetty, and award winning indigenous garden, on the tidal canal. All timberwork is solid teak, even the painted balustrade along the stoeps. Very ‘nautical entrance hall’, you have to see the ‘tower’ which flows through to an almost ‘farm-house’ wrapped stoep top and bottom floors. Ideal for simply enjoying the water, fishing is great and the outlook superb. The position of this home is stunning; it is unbeatable against the other homes here. The large ‘stackable’ doors, open onto the stoep when the weather is fine, this simply makes for marvellous entertaining.
There are interesting little things in the home which add to the comfort. i.e. heated towel rail, wall heaters, in the bedrooms and study, underground fresh rain water supply etc.
Widowed owner needs to retire to a single story cottage in the town due to age. The marina has the utmost security, 24/7 guards, and cameras in this beautiful gated estate. Individual photos if required. This is a selfish home; artists designed and decorated the house. A master cabinetmaker made all the timber throughout, and although the garden does not suit everyone’s taste, this can be, re-landscaped at no cost to buyer. Community squash court, swimming pool and tennis court for fun in the grounds of the marina.
There is the possibility of some of the furniture being available for sale, as it has all been custom made for the house. Incredible teak, breathtaking pieces, far too large for any normal home.
