Q:
Hi, please allow me to clearify your question about this very nice brooch!
It can't be pre-1900 because it is a RAF sweetheatrs brooch.TheRAF was only formed at the closing stages of WW 1 in 1918. It was previously known as the RFC - Royal Flying Corps. So this nice piece must have come from very late WW1 therefore late 1918 or definately then WW2 when sweetheart brooches was given out in the thousands. Also possibly between the two world wars.

Deon

Hi Marilyn, I'm collecting wings and sweetheart wings especially WW2, which obviously triggered the interest in your wing. I don't know the size of this wing but it look quite small. I think the prise is ok - about R250 - R280. You'll find traders and sellers who's prises will differ hugely for same type of wings, but I think it is just to make a quick bug or catch someone who does not know the value. Hello Deon, thank you for the information on this brooch, that was very kind of you and I will change my information, is the asking price in line with the brooch, I really know nothing about Militaria, when you buy jewelery or other job lots you come across these little treasures and have to research them but dont always get all of the information, I find this all very interesting and really appreciate you taking the time to advise me, kind regards, Marilyn.
