History:
The Auto Graflex Camera was manufactured by the Folmer and Schwing department of the Eastman Kodak company from approximately 1908 to 1923. It was patented by Folmer on February 5, 1907. It was available in three sizes 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches, 4 x 5 inches, and 5 x 7 inches.
Designed to accommodate the regular graflex plate holders, or this camera will accommodate the Graflex magazine plate holder which was able to be loaded with twelve glass plates, or a film pack adapter, or the cartridge roll holder for daylight loading roll film. When closed the 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 camera measures 6 1/4 x 5 3/8 x 6 3/4 inches and weighs 4 1/2 lbs and cost $74.00. The 4 x 5 camera measures 7 1/8 x 6 1/8 x 7 3/8 inches and weighs 5 1/2 lbs and cost $88.25. The 5 x 7 camera measures 9 1/4 x 8 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches and weighs 9 lbs and costs $114.00 in 1914.
