What Every BidorBuy Seller Needs: Packing Supplies and Business Suppliesbidorbuy has a long history of helping sellers and shops all over South Africa to successfully sell their products and launch their brands. Many shops don¿t even have their own website because sites such as bidorbuy take much of the headache and admin out of the equation. One thing you do need to do before you start selling your stock is, find a good assortment of packing supplies and business supplies.

Packing Supplies

Depending on the goods you are selling you are likely to need a wide range of different packing supplies. Consider the weight, size, shape and nature of the goods you sell.

The primary packing supplies you will need are:

  • Bubble wrap
  • Polystyrene surrounds
  • Polystyrene chips
  • Cardboard boxes
  • Cushioned envelopes
  • Packing tape

Packing Tips

Whether you have never packaged a product before, or you are a seasoned pro, there are a few rules you always need to keep in mind:

  • The item inside the box or package needs to have firm cushioning and protection against jarring movement which may damage the goods.
  • The external packaging must be strong and durable to protect the goods inside and prevent tampering.
  • The external package must be sealed with several layers of packaging tape to prevent tampering.
  • Mark the external package with additional guidelines such as ¿fragile¿ or ¿this way up¿.
  • Always label the box with as much information as possible. Include both the delivery and return address with their respective postal codes; the waybill number, the number of items, as well as the telephone number and name of the business from which the item has been posted.

Additional Considerations

  • Some items you ship will require care and it is in your best interests to foresee any possible problems or concerns in order to prevent returns and being held liable for damage.
  • Heavy items will need stronger external packaging. Plastic binding or straps around the box are one of the best ways to ensure the parcel remains intact and the box keeps its original shape.
  • Liquids need to be wrapped and sealed especially to avoid leakage, placing the item in a sealed water proof bag is advised.
  • Sharp instruments need protective covering over the edges so that damage to other items doesn¿t occur.
  • Lastly be sure to use the strongest packing tape possible to ensure that the tape stays in place and that evidence of tampering is obvious.

Packing your goods is as easy as 1-2-3, now all you need to do is sell your goods!
