Gordon Legg is a visual artist born in 1932 in East London. He left

East London in 1949 and moved to Johannesburg & spent 3 years

at the Technical College Art School. He then transferred to Cape

Town & worked for 20 years as a commercial artist in packaging &

advertising. Finding the commercial world unsatisfying he spent

many weekends painting and learning the techniques of watercolour.

Ten years later in 1974 he became a full time watercolourist & has had

70 one man shows in most of the major centres. He has exhibited in

London twice & also with the SA Watercolour Society. Gordon's

paintings depict wide open spaces and is most noticeable in his

landscapes and seascapes. Recently he ventured into using acrylics

as a medium. He now resides in Plettenberg Bay
