Original oil painting (75 x 50cm) dated 1974, by well known artist Martin Koch (1940) - unframed. Martin is a self-taught artist, starting at the young age of ten and held his first public exhibition in Johannesburg at the age of 14. He has been commissioned by many clients like:
- The African Museum for City Council of Johannesburg
- Gold Mining Magnate of Johannesburg, Mr. Norbert Erleigh
- Lord and Lady Lilleford of London
- The SA Government to paint Military March-Pass of the 5th Centenary of the Republic of South Africa (size 6 x 12 ft) unveiled by the State President on the 5th December 1968, now hanging in the Military Academy, Pretoria
- The S.A. Defence Force to paint Navy Frigate
- The Transvaal Provincial Administration to execute large mural (6 x 12 ft). Now hanging in the Council Chamber Building
- Davenport Bank and Trust Co. of America to paint series of African Wildlife paintings
- Mr. Sol Kerzner, Southern Sun Hotels to paint two Wildlife paintings for the King and Queen Suites – Lost City Palace Hotel
- South African Reserve Bank to design New South African monetary coins presently in use
Even though Martin has become well known for his landscapes, wildlife and beautiful portrayal of animals in their natural habitat.
Martin works mainly in oil and watercolour and has become an expert in the application of these mediums in his lively paintings.
