German First World War Medal Group (with other items) awarded to Eugen Lehmann
Eugen Lehmann was born on 3 October 1891 in Wittershausen. In 1907 he completed his apprenticeship and from 1910 served in 11 Company of the Württemberg 126 Infantry Regiment. During the First World War he received the Iron Cross, the Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 (front-line veterans, with swords), the Military Merit Medal and the Württemberg Kingdom 9-Year Long Service Medal. In 1938 he received the Luftschutz Civil Air Defense Medal 2nd Class and in 1939 the War Merit Cross 2nd class without swords. Also included in the lot are old pictures, a "sweetheart" brooch of Lehmann and a pristine military regimental beer stein of 126 Regiment dated for the period 1910-12 with Lehmann's name on it. (These pre-WW1 German beer steins are listed on the internet for many hundreds of USA dollars).
